Elwood Folse
Journalist Skilled with Lens&Pen
About Me
Hi, I’m Elwood, but most people call me Woody. I graduated with a degree in Communications and had a strong focus in Journalism. I’ve built my career around the power of storytelling. Whether through writing, strategy, or creative projects. I enjoy taking complex ideas and turning them into clear, engaging narratives that connect with people. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me exploring new ideas, diving into creative side projects, or writing about topics that inspire me.
Work Experience
I’ve built a diverse background in communications, journalism, and media through roles in broadcasting, publishing, and production. From interning at Hell Cat Productions (2025) and WUWF 88.1 FM (2025-present) to leading as Editor in Chief of UWF’s The Voyager, and being a brand ambassador at Cat Country 98.7, (2023-2024) I’ve developed strong storytelling and media production skills. My earlier work at Starbucks (2020-2022) and The Pointe Resturaunt Bar and Grill (2021-present) sharpened my customer service and teamwork abilities, while my time in the U.S. Navy taught me discipline and resilience.
