Elwood Folse | Week 12 | Hell Cat Productions

This week marked my 12th at Hellcat Production Studios, and it was a particularly exciting one. I had the opportunity to sit in with Adam, a professional editor from California. From what I’ve been told, he’s a seasoned pro, and I was eager to soak up as much knowledge as possible.

Adam is relatively new to the studio, so while he has been showing me advanced editing techniques, I’ve also been helping him navigate the workspace and find what he needs. It’s been a great dynamic—he shares industry tricks and shortcuts, and I assist in making his transition smoother.

One of the most fascinating techniques he introduced me to this week was a method for fixing odd video blips, stutters, or mistakes. Instead of simply cutting or covering up an issue, he showed me how to blur two frames from separate videos to generate a new frame. This allows for a seamless correction while maintaining the integrity of the audio. It was a game-changer, and I can already see how useful it will be in my future projects.

Every week at Hellcat Production Studios has been an opportunity to grow, and this was no exception. Learning from someone with Adam’s expertise has reinforced my passion for video editing, and I’m excited to keep pushing my skills further.
